Kids are able to process a lot more than we’d like to believe. Don’t ever make the mistake of over simplifying an explanation just because you think they might be too young to understand. 

Not all kids of the same age are going to process things, that is why it’s important to make sure they do actually understand a particular lesson.There are some ways to ensure that they do understand, ask them or challenge them into giving you a demonstration of their understanding.
